Introduction

On March 8, 2026, Woman Online University held a special program to

celebrate International Women’s Day. The event was attended by the

university’s leadership team, professors, students, and members of the

academic and administrative staff. The program aimed to recognize

the achievements and contributions of women, highlight their role in the

development of society, and reaffirm the

importance of education and equal opportunities for women and girls.

The program began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by

Ms. Zuhra Mirzad. Following that, Ms. Shabnam Ahmadi and Ms. Zarmina

Sultani warmly welcomed all attendees

and congratulated them on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

Speeches
Mr. Abdul Farid Salangi, Chancellor and Founder of Woman Online University,

welcomed the participants and extended his congratulations on the

occasion of International Women’s Day to all women and girls of Afghanistan,

especially the students of Woman Online University. In his remarks,

he emphasized the importance of education and the vital role of

women in the development of society. He encouraged Afghan girls

to continue pursuing their education and striving for a brighter future.

He also noted that despite the significant challenges facing girls’ education,

Woman Online University has helped sustain the spirit of learning

among many Afghan girls and has provided opportunities for their

academic, intellectual, and leadership

development, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to society in the future.

Afterward, the publications team presented a congratulatory video

message from the university leadership. Then, Ms. Farzana Razemjo,

Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Woman Online University, also

extended her congratulations to all women in Afghanistan and

commended the university team for their

efforts in providing educational opportunities for young women across the country.
Mr. Samiullah Sadat, Lecturer at Woman Online University, also

congratulated the participants on this occasion and emphasized

the important role of women in contributing to academic and social

development. Ms. Yamina Asghari, Administrative Head of the Academic

Affairs extended her congratulations to all women and girls in

Afghanistan and highlighted the

importance of continuing education and working toward a brighter future.

In addition, Ms. Ruqia Athar, Administrative Director of the Faculty

of Medicine, expressed her appreciation for the organization

of the program, congratulated the women and students of the

university on International Women’s Day,

and commended the dedication of young women pursuing their education.
Ms. Khaliqa Osmani, Head of the Story Committee of the Literary

Association, recited a poem in honor of

International Women’s Day and extended her congratulations to all women.
Ms. Najma Samkani, Administrative Head and Dean of the Faculty of

Medicine at Woman Online University, delivered brief remarks

congratulating Afghan women and emphasizing their vital role in

the social and academic development of society. This was followed by

valuable remarks from Mr. Hussain Parwaz and

Mr. Ziaulrahman Shayeq, Head of the Department of Law and Political Science.

Conclusion
At the conclusion of the program, Ms. Fazila Akrami, General Director

of Student Affairs at Woman Online University, congratulated all

women and students on International Women’s Day, encouraged

them to pursue their education with determination

and hope, and expressed appreciation to all participants for attending.
The event recognized the significant contributions and efforts of women and

underscored the importance of teamwork, solidarity, and the

vital role of women in advancing the academic and social goals of the university.
